here’s an owl i made for my 22 monther, jed. i was inspired by all the owls i’ve been seeing in crafty-web-land… like this one and i know there is some sweet owl fabric out there, which i can’t find now. sorry. i guess this guy is a little abstract because my husband didn’t get that it was an owl… oh well!

i have finally started hand-quilting the first of the two quilts for my boys. this is my first time hand-quilting, and i gotta admit, i was not a happy camper when i first started. seriously… i almost threw in the towel before i finished half of a squiggly line. none-the-less, i persevered and am glad i did. i have only finished three wavy lines now (amazing, i know), but feel like i am getting the hang of it rather quickly. not to mention that it was quite therapeutic to work on while watching an office re-run. :) cheers!
i am so proud of my grandmother. many years ago she chose the perfect subject matter to create a print of…ME! she has made it into a watercolor, which is shown here. she recently entered it into an art show and won first place! way-to-go mom-mom!
